Freelance photographer and multimedia producer Ellen Smith worked as a News Corp Australia press photojournalist and videographer for more than 20 years, covering the latest breaking news across Victoria.
Her images of local and international celebrities, politicians, royalty and Melbourne’s major events have been published in the Herald Sun, The Australian, mX, The Daily Telegraph and other interstate News Corp publications, and Victorian suburban mastheads.
Ellen has also contributed her photographic and video skills to projects for the East Timor Eye Program, Eyes For Africa, and The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).
She collaborated with a writer to photograph and picture-edit a fundraising book on the RACS programs in Timor Leste called My Timor Heart.
She currently works as a freelancer for Australian Associated Press (AAP), where her work is published around Australia in Nine and News Corp print and online publications, The Saturday Paper, and the Guardian Australia edition (online).
Other clients have included Fernwood Gym magazine, Our Community, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Australian Red Cross, Leadership Victoria, Six O’Clock Advisory, University of South Australia, Willis Towers Watson, Wise McBaron Communications, and Women’s Housing Ltd.
